Excess weight is widely recognized by medical bodies as a chronic condition with a strong biological and hormonal component. Retatrutide works by supporting the correction of hormonal signals involved in appetite regulation, energy expenditure, and glucose control, as demonstrated in published clinical research.

How Retatrutide Works
How Retatrutide Works

Three hormonal Targets, one peptide.

Three hormonal Targets, one peptide.

Think of your metabolism like a lock with three keys. Most weight loss drugs only carry one. Retatrutide carries all three. Retatrutide simultaneously engages GLP-1, GIP, and glucagon receptors. The first in the world.

1
1

GLP-1 Receptor Activation

Stimulates insulin release, decreases glucagon secretion, reduces food intake, and delays gastric emptying. GLP-1 receptors are distributed across the pancreas, brain, heart, kidneys, and gut — producing wide-ranging metabolic benefits.

Insulin & appetite control

Suppresses brain hunger signals

Stabilizes blood sugar

Slow digestion keeps you full longer

2
2

GIP Receptor Activation

Works in tandem with GLP-1 to enhance insulin secretion and reduce appetite. GIP agonism also influences bone metabolism and adipose tissue, inhibiting fat storage while promoting better lipid handling.

Amplified response & tolerability

Amplify the body's insulin response

Enhances how efficiently fat is stored and released

Deepens appettite-supressing effect of GLP-1

3
3

Glucagon Receptor Activation

Promotes energy expenditure, reduces lipogenesis, induces lipolysis, and reduces GI motility. Glucagon receptor action drives fat burning from the liver and adipose tissue, directly amplifying weight loss beyond what GLP-1 alone achieves.

Metabolic acceleration

Drives the liver to burn stored fat for fuel

Raises your metabolic rate

Keeps fat loss active between meals

Over the past 5 months on Retatrutide (starting at 2mg/week and titrating up to 6mg now), combined with TRT, smart training, and a low-carb diet with weekly refeeds, I dropped from 20% body fat down to 8%.

    225 lbs -> 150 lbs

Reta is a game changer. Currently on 5mg/wk, titrated up from SD of 2mg/wk. I lift heavy 6x a week, cardio (treadmill @3.0-3.2, incline 8-12, 30-60 mins), track all food, eat in a deficit and hit around 120g of protein a day.

I almost didn’t share these before and after photos because it feels really vulnerable to put this part of my life out there.

But I’m posting anyway because posts like this helped me to feel less alone and gave me hope that change was possible. I hope this may help someone else who is struggling as well.

I honestly did not expect the difference in my face to be this noticeable. Through Retatrutide and losing weight, my face has changed a lot. For me, the change is even more obvious in my face than in many other parts of my body.

Reta has changed the course of my life so drastically i'm still having a hard time grasping what happened in the last 10 months and where i'm going to take it! starting weight was 347Lbs current weight is 231lbs i struggled with depression, was on the verge of being diabetic and had an unhealthy relationship with food and alcohol. i'm excited to see what in store for me in the next couple months
